When homeschooled farm girl Piper McCloud reveals her ability to fly, she is quickly taken to a secret government facility to be trained with other exceptional children, but she soon realizes that something is very wrong and begins working with brilliant and wealthy Conrad to escape.

"Piper decided to jump off the roof. It wasn't a rash decision on her part. This was her plan: Climb to the top of the roof, pick up speed by running from one end all the way to the other. Jump off. Finally, and most importantly, don't fall. She didn't make plans in the event she did fall, because if you jump off the roof of your house and land on your head, you really don't need any plans from that point on. Even Piper knew that. So that's what she did. She jumped clean off her roof. But before we get to what happens next, you'll probably need to know a thing or two about a thing or two..."
At first glance : Girl, that’s a terrible cover
After finished the book : The cover is fantastic!

I forgot how much I enjoyed reading middle-grade stories, and reading this bring back the memory of that age. You know, the feeling, the experience of middle grade, where I don’t have anything to worry about.

My first glance, gave me the impression of something like Enid Blyton’s animal stories and I don’t know why. Maybe because of the farm vibe.

But! But!
To hell with my first expectation. This book is amazing and fantastic and brilliant and phenomenal and…lets stop.

Piper is great girl character that you cant help but root for. Her fly ability left her parents with no choice but to keep her in house, and restricted her fly behaviour. Untill, one day..you cant expect Piper was the only girl with exceptional ability. And that was when the adventure began.

Imagine a bunch of kids with special abilities, people may see them as freaks and frightening. And don’t even keep a low expectation with these kids, you never know what they are capable of.
Might be spoiler : I love Piper and Conrad platonic relationship!

Overall : Great plot, might be slow in the beginning, but it gets better. The characters are amazing and damn that plot-twist eventhough I might expect that will happen. Never better.

I haven’t write for such a long time, and my writing skill is getting worst and need more polishing. My idea seems to be not as smooth as before and I am a bit slow to get back to write a review.
